Flocculant Testing

Flocculants Testing

Flocculants can be used in the field of sewage treatment as a means to strengthen the separation of solid and liquid. When used for conditioning of residual sludge prior to dehydration, flocculants and coagulants become sludge conditioners or dehydrating agents. Flocculant According to the chemical composition, flocculant can be divided into organic flocculant, inorganic flocculant and microbial flocculant three categories. BOC Sciences has a comprehensive understanding of the composition of flocculants through component analysis, which is conducive to improving the product performance of flocculants and developing new flocculants. At the same time, you can refer to the ingredients to judge the quality of the product (such as: impurities, foreign bodies, spots, precipitates, oil, easy fracture, etc.). Research on the ingredient formulation of high-end flocculant products to reduce the cost of product development.

Testing Services

BOC Sciences provides analysis, testing, research and development, formulation development and other technical services for water treatment agents. Whether you are a manufacturer, distributor or consumer, we have a professional testing service team to complete the test report you need in a fast way.

Flocculant testing items

Analysis and identification of specific components of flocculant, formulation analysis of flocculant, detection of whether the flocculant contains impurities or unknown substance analysis. At the same time, it also includes component content detection, active component detection, component detection, chemical component detection, main component detection, chloride ion detection, viscosity detection, molecular weight detection, etc.

Method for determination of flocculant concentration

According to the first step of Hoffmann rearrangement, bromine is used to react with an amide group to form n-bromoamide, and excess bromine is removed with a reducing agent. The resulting N-bromoamide hydrolyzes to produce subbromic acid, which can maintain equilibrium with each other and can oxidize iodine ions to iodine quantitatively. Therefore, even at low concentrations, the amide group can be effectively determined in the form of starch triiodide.

Detection range

Inorganic flocculant, organic flocculant, inorganic coagulant, inorganic polymer flocculant, synthetic organic polymer flocculant, natural organic polymer flocculant, microbial flocculant, inorganic low molecular flocculant and so on.

The instruments used for analysis include but are not limited to the following.

Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), X-Ray fluorescence (XRF), X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS), Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), Thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), etc.
