Aquaculture

Sustainable solutions for water treatment are crucial for aquaculture. Due to changes in farming practices and the indiscriminate discharge of industrial and domestic wastewater, the balance of the natural ecosystem in aquaculture waters has been disrupted, and as a result, aquaculture diseases occur frequently. BOC Sciences offers solutions to meet the increasingly stringent discharge requirements. The benefits we can bring to the aquaculture industry include reduced water consumption, improved fish growing conditions, better control of biological performance and reduced environmental impact.

Aquaculture Water Treatment Solutions

At BOC Sciences, we work with aquaculturists and we understand the challenges faced by the aquaculture industry. To help you control costs while enhancing your operations, we offer a variety of water treatment solutions for a variety of aquaculture applications.

Physical treatment solutions

Physical separation is a low-energy, low-emission, low-pollution resource-based separation method that primarily uses physical principles to achieve separation, degradation, conversion and resourcefulness of macromolecules in tailwater. This technology is primarily applicable to the first and third stages of aquatic tailwater treatment.

  • Precipitation separation technology

Precipitation separation technology can remove the particles in the tailwater that are denser than water, and is suitable for large particles with particle size > 75 μm.

  • Filtration technology

Filtration technologies include micro-mesh filtration, media filtration, etc. The equipment developed based on the principle of micro-net filtration is mainly microfilter and arc sieve. The use of mechanical filtration equipment accelerates the speed of solid-liquid separation, saves time compared with sedimentation separation technology, and the size of filtered particles can be well controlled according to the size of the screen or sieve gap, with a very high removal rate of 99% in the first stage of coarse filtration.

  • Foam separation technology

Foam separation technology is based on the principle of adsorbing tiny particles in the tailwater as the bubbles float to the surface of the water column to form foam, and then collecting the foam from the water surface to remove suspended and dissolved pollutants from the tailwater.

Chemical treatment solutions

  • Flocculation technology

Flocculation technology is mainly used to reduce the repulsion between ions by adding flocculants such as aluminum salts and iron salts, which are electrically opposite to the substances, and also to promote the coagulation and sinking of ions by using microorganisms to achieve the purpose of removing suspended matter in the water body.

Biological treatment solutions

  • Aquatic plant treatment technology

Ecological floating bed is based on biological polymer material, and suitable aquatic plants are planted according to the demand; if ecological floating bed technology is combined with economic plant hydroponics and energy technology, it can also achieve both ecological and economic benefits.

  • Activated sludge treatment technology

The main purpose of activated sludge treatment is to remove pollutants by coagulation, adsorption, oxidation and decomposition using suspended microbial flocs.
