Municipal

Municipal wastewater treatment process mainly includes mechanical treatment, biochemical treatment, sludge treatment and other means. BOC Sciences provides expertise and advanced technology to implement municipal water treatment solutions such as wastewater treatment, drinking water production and trace pollutant removal.

Municipal Water Solutions

BOC Sciences has the equipment and chemical solutions necessary to help you provide clean drinking water, from filtration technology to effectively treat local water sources to electrodialysis to desalinate brackish water.

1. Drinking water solutions

Drinking water is water that has been treated and meets regulatory requirements for human sanitation and health. Regulatory standards and treatment processes vary around the world. Many countries follow the guidelines set by the World Health Organization. The European Union, the United States and other developed countries have adopted more stringent standards.

We evaluate water quality and distribution systems to help find the right solution. Whether the water source is relatively clean or complex, we can provide clean drinking water to the community as cost-effectively as possible through treatments such as desalination, wastewater treatment and advanced filtration. When treating water for municipalities, the challenge goes beyond producing the required quality and quantity. Growing population demands, variable water sources, increasing water shortages and regulatory pressures combine to add complexity. Municipal water treatment plants require reliable water treatment technology to effectively produce quality water.

2. Wastewater solutions

As populations grow and urbanization accelerates, municipal water treatment for wastewater reuse offers a reliable and safe option for many communities. Recycled municipal wastewater minimizes the need for imported water in local areas, which can be an expensive and energy-intensive endeavor. Our municipal water treatment solutions remove solids, chemicals, bacteria and other unhealthy contaminants from wastewater to provide residents with clean drinking water.

3. Trace contaminant removal solutions

Trace contaminants are elements, complexes and compounds that are man-made and/or naturally occurring in water (at very low levels) and must be removed from drinking water or wastewater for health or regulatory reasons. Trace contaminants such as boron, chromate, etc. can be removed from water by a variety of technologies using selective contaminant removal or advanced filtration techniques.

Technology Keys

a. Replace ordinary biofilters with multi-stage aeration biofilters: Aeration biofilters use forced aeration, with sufficient oxygen supply and about 10 times the treatment capacity per unit volume than ordinary biofilters.

b. Adding different filter media makes the unit fill with anaerobic, anoxic and aerobic zones at the same time, which is conducive to the formation of food chain and can have the functions of denitrification, phosphorus removal and organic matter removal under aeration conditions at the same time.

c. Using air floatation tank instead of sedimentation tank in traditional water treatment process, it can greatly improve the removal rate of aging and shedding biofilm and suspended matter in aeration biofilter, reduce the hydraulic residence time, reduce the floor space of the structure, reduce the civil construction investment, facilitate the further treatment and disposal of sludge, and save the treatment cost.
